The international summer school "Fundamental Problems in Statistical Physics" is to be held for the fourteenth time in the summer of 2017 in Bruneck, a picturesque town in the Italian Alps.
The program comprises a number of pedagogical introductions to fundamental areas of statistical mechanics, given by leading experts in the field. Each theme is developed in two lectures of two hours duration. Besides the regular lectures some topical subjects will be discussed in seminars led by invited speakers. The format of the school allows ample time for discussions and interaction with the speakers and the other participants. All participants are invited to present a poster of their own research. In one or several poster sessions these posters can be visited and discussed by the participants and lecturers.
Lectures will begin on Monday, July 17 in the morning. Participants are expected to arrive at Bruneck on Sunday, July 16 in the afternoon/evening. The last lecture is on Friday evening, July 28. Pariticipants are expected to leave on Saturday morning, July 29, after breakfast.
Applying will be possible from the beginning of 2017, stay tuned.
As in the previous edition, lecture notes will be published in a special issue of Physica A (Elsevier).
